My personal hate

This a personal thing. Its probably my number one hatred. Not many of you could probably relate to this but I think that once I explain it to you, you will understand why I hate it so.

I like maths.

Plain and simple.

I. Like. Maths.

I love how the numbers interact. I love being able to manipulate them into producing pretty graphs and fractals. I enjoy finding correlations between numbers. I love the irrational and constant numbers like pi and phi. I find everything about it interesting.

I know that sounds weird but I always have. I have a bit of a natural talent with it. I was skipped two years ahead in mathematics when I was in primary school. This carried on until it clashed with my secondary school timetable and had to be dropped. I continued on with mathematics all throughout school. In year twelve, I had planned to apply for a degree in chemical engineercbi until I found a lovely degree in mathematics.I applied and got it. Even scored a scholarship for mathematically gifted women.

But how does all this relate to my personal hate?

Well, its when people ask me what I do. The conversation usually goes like this.

"So what do you do?"

"I'm a uni student"

"That's nice. What are you studying?"

"Bachelor of mathematical science"

"I hate maths"

What. The. Fuck?

How in any which way , shape or form does that add to the conversation? Its pointless and infuriating. Thats like me telling a mother that I hate kids or a mechanic that I hate cars. It just not done.

It only seems to happen to the maths kids though. The people that are truly passionate about what they are doing and learning get told constantly by the public that they hate it. We know you dislike it. I know you dislike by the fact I'm the only left in my degree. I/we know this. We get this. We understand this. But we happen to like it. If it wasnt for the mathematicians doing the job that you don't like, half the shit that exist now wouldn't exist.

Even if you don't like it, I'm sure there is something in this world that you love more than anything. Remember that when you open your mouth and think how much it would hurt to have people constantly tell you they hate it.

So please, next time someone tells you that they like maths just shut the fuck up about how much you hate it. React with something that adds meaning to a conversation you are having with someone that might be your boss one day.

Why so angry?

That's a good question right? Why do people do what they do? What motivates us all?

The simple answer in this case is I see a lot of things happening. Things that I dont agree with. Things that should not occur. Things on a local scale, things on a global scale and things on a personal scale. Why does no one stand up and say anything about it?

It just baffles me how that a supposedly advanced civilisation that we live in can create such a big bunch of fucktards.

I'm not talking about your average run of the mill fucktards. I'm taking about people that spew hatred and venom when they speak. People with backwards thinking and people that are so egotistical it just makes you want to heart punch them. I have seen and felt their racism, their sexism and their elistism.

In the many posts to come, I will explain a few major things that really irritate me. I will share some of my experiences and if just one person reads this and makes a change to the way they treat others, it will be worth it.
